Chickasaw State Park | Henderson, TN
"She was free in her wilderness. She was a wanderess, a drop of free water. She belonged to no man and to no city." -Roman Payne
A little throwback to my camping trip with Moriah last fall.
I recently decided my life doesn't consist of enough quick weekend getaways, and it's one of my goals for 2016/2017 to change that by challenging myself to travel and take advantage of all the beautiful state parks and nature trails that are skattered around Tennessee and the surrounding states.
Moriah and I drove up to Chickasaw State Park, which is only about an hour and a half or so outside of Memphis and found about a million and one little stops along the way that were their own mini adventures.
Chickasaw State Park is the PERFECT camping ground for a solo camper, a couple of gals escaping the city life for the weekend, or a nice family camping trip. Camping off grid can be a little scary, especially as a young female traveler, so this was the perfect spot to put up our hammocks and tent.
While the camp itself was close to other campers, we were able to retreat to the woods and wander off on our own to find plenty of adventure and solitude to satisfy our craving that the hustle and bustle of a busy life leaves us with. Thanks for being a total babe in front of the camera, Mo! and Thanks for the adventure!
