Are you ever just itching to explore?
Travel can be so expensive, and it seems like all the cool places are worlds away, requiring plane tickets and hotel stays and rental cars... But there are so many hidden treasures right under our noses that are dying to be discovered! Quick little day trips that leave you feeling refreshed and satisfied (without draining your bank account).
Michael and I left the 901 mid-morning, and drove across the muddy river to the Natural State. It only took us about 3 hours to get to a beautiful state park in Arkansas called Petit Jean. This park is LOADED with things to see. It's just a short hike down to the 95ft waterfall, Cedar Falls. This encompassing rock cove will make you feel so incredibly small, but in the best way. It's the perfect little spot to hang a hammock and enjoy the atmosphere for a bit.
My favorite part of exploring Petit Jean State Park was surprisingly not the waterfall, though. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't get enough of Cedar Falls, but the hulking rock walls at Bear Cave were just begging to be used for a photoshoot. I'm dying to take a couple back to this little spot to explore with and photograph later this fall.
