A Modern and Unique Wedding at Shelby Farms | The Sekanders | Documentary Style Wedding Photographer

“Remember, as few posed photos as possible. Just do your thing.”

After hellos and hugs, these were the first words spoken to us after we arrived at Shelby Farms for Hennah and Renee’s wedding. It was music to our ears. Complete freedom, trust, and allowance to strip away all the timelines and to do lists and focus on what was happening in front of us- the moment, the day, the connection, the feeling.

Infinity Events made this entirely possible. Having a wedding planner you can trust and depend on, one that makes sure everything is running smoothly and on time allows the rest of your vendors to focus on doing what they do best.

“We met at the beginning of that year of uncertainty and lockdowns. It was a time when most people were given an extraordinary opportunity to take time and reflect. We met in Los Angeles, more specifically, in the California for Warren headquarters. It was also a place where an activist and a writer were able to spend a few hours talking in a parked car, quietly realizing that this was the beginning of a lifetime of love and growth.”

Hennah and Renee’s wedding was full of intention and was a true reflection of who they are as individuals and as a couple. Snapdragon Floral out did themselves with a unique and modern design. The sun dipped into the lake at Shelby Farms and poured in through the wall of windows just as everyone entered cocktail hour. Simply Strings’ elegant rendition of “Love Shack” floated through the room as it turned gold- because of the sunset, yes, but it was more than that really. It was a feeling- warmth, togetherness, joy, excitement- it floated through the room in the same way that the music did.

Paradox Catering served dinner family-style in a true testament to the warmth and unity of the day. Family-style is where large plates and bowls of food are placed on the table for guests to serve themselves, akin to a family gathering at home. Rather than individual portions being plated in the kitchen and served to each guest, dishes are presented in their entirety, encouraging interaction as the guests pass plates to one another. It evoked a convivial atmosphere that felt elegant yet relaxed. The sound of soft music, laughter, conversation and the clinking of glasses filled the room. Hennah and Renee worked with Paradox to choose each dish so intentionally, it really felt like a perfect blend of who they are together and their individual cultures.
