A Memphis Wedding at the Woodruff Fontaine House | Brenda & Taylor

I knew that Brenda and Taylor’s wedding would be amazing and fun, but I didn’t realize how much of their love for our city would show through. It was completely head to toe in Memphis spirit- from Brenda’s Tiger blue heels, their custom made growl towels, locally brewed beer from Wiseacre Brewing Co., to the unspeakable deliciousness of Central BBQ and Gibson’s Donuts, and of course, the venue itself: a beautiful historic home that stands right in the heart of Memphis, Woodruff Fontaine House & Museum.

Arriving to Brenda and Taylor’s ceremony felt like showing up to the playoffs…
The growl towel’s were draped over each chair, anticipation and excitement filled the air, and thier biggest fans were finding their way to their seats to get ready for the big event.

I was so excited when Brenda and Taylor told me they were having custom towls made for their wedding. It was so them. Both of them LOVE Memphis and basketball so much, so it was only fitting that they had these made as wedding favors for their guests.

These two had a few quiet moments before their ceremony to walk around the inside of the Woodruff Fontaine house, we looked out the windows overlooking the front lawn where they had their ceremony set up. They watched as their guests began arriving. The sound of the quartet playing floated up to the third story window they were looking out from.

Just as we were about to cue up the music and send the flower girls down the aisle, a wave of rain crept in and sent us all running for the carriage house to hid out there as the quick little shower passed over.

Within 5 minutes, the rain lifted and everyone made their way back to the front lawn to begin the ceremony.

”For years, I’ve wanted a Meyer lemon tree in a pot.
In lieu of the traditional unity ceremonies at our wedding, I bought this tree at Urban Earth, and at the wedding we each added soil brought from our parents’ homes. The tree is now settled in a nice new pot on the patio until fall, when we will bring it inside.”

-Brenda

What Brenda and Taylor were oblivious to was that someone very special was about to make a grand appearance at their wedding.
