A WEDDING AT SADDLE WOODS FARM IN Murfreesboro, TN | Meghan & TJ
Meghan and TJ's wedding was absolutely beautiful, and I'm not talking about the amazing weather that day or this gorgeous barn at Saddle Woods Farm where they gathered with all their friends and family to officially join their lives together.
The entire year leading up to their wedding was a tough one. This day felt like not only their chance to celebrate their love and becoming husband and wife, but also to celebrate coming out on the other side of this year stronger than ever, together.
I can never express how much getting to tell this chapter of their story means to me, or how much of an impact their story has made on me since the day I met them. But I will say, these two deserve all the happiness in the world, and I know without a doubt that they have found that in each other. Congratulations you two!!
One of the sweetest, most sublte details of the day was that Meghan had her Papa’s Navy emblem from the Canadian Navy sewn to the bottom of her dress. He passed years ago so it was the perfect way to honor him and have him there with them on her wedding day.
Meghan and her family are from Italy, and TJ actually proposed to her while they were in Italy visiting her family. On the cliffs of Cinque Terre, he asked her to be his wife.
Meghan's mom creates beautiful mosaics, and she recreated the exact spot where TJ proposed into a mosaic art piece on a roof-tile and gave it to Meghan the morning of her wedding as a gift.
"Oh goodness. This will always go down as one of my favorite moments in my entire life! When I came up on the golf cart Tj was standing facing the barn. I think I shouted something along the lines of “are you ready” and that’s when I could tell that he was already crying! He had NO idea about what my dress oooked like or anything!! His face and reaction made all my nerves go away!! I was excited to marry him and man did he look sexy!! Those tuxedos are seriously everything!!" -Meghan
"Even before I saw Meghan for the first time on wedding day I was emotional. When I finally turned around, it hit me all at once. She looked stunning. Seeing her smile so big and that she was just as excited as I was. It made it even harder to hold back my tears. I couldn’t wait to say I do." -TJ
The bard at Saddle Woods Farm is draped with elegance, string lights, and warm wooden beams. Meghan said that originally they avoided the idea of a barn wedding, but as soon as they saw Saddle Woods Farm they fell in love and knew it was perfect for them.
For a fun and simple nod to Meghan's Italian heritage, they had the cutest wedding favors;
hanging on a beautiful wooden sign as you enter the barn were wine cork keychains for each of their guests.
One of the most emotional parts of the day was during speeches.
Meghan's father shared the story of TJ asking for her hand in marriage, their proposal, Meghan's battle with breast cancer last year and TJ supporting her every step of the way.
Before they even became husband and wife, they had proven to each other they were in it for the long run, through thick and thin.
There wasn't a dry eye in the room.
VICTORY!
...........with only minimal casualties.
Fun fact: Haley caught the bouquet and Matt caught the garter, and less than 48 hours after Meghan's wedding, Haley was sitting in Disney world with a ring on her finger and a FIANCE!
Coincidence? I think not.
Some real life magic-stuff going on here.
