Tulips at the Dixon Gallery & Gardens with the Myers Family | Memphis Family Photographer
There’s something incredibly special about photographing a returning family- I’ve gotten the chance to photograph the Myers family through so many stages of life- engagement, their wedding, their son Artie’s newborn photos, hanging at their house documenting those little every day moments that feel so magical to me…and now this chapter of them getting ready to add another member to their family- baby sister, Florence. Photographing them at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens just as the tulips were reaching their peak felt very symbolic of their family changing and growing in this new season of life. The gardens were bursting with color- vibrant reds, soft pinks, cheerful yellows, pops of purple…and the air carried that unmistakable early spring lightness. What I love most about sessions like this is how natural it feels- nothing forced, just enjoying the gardens as we waded through endless tulips. We wandered the twisty paths together, letting the gardens lead the way, and we paused here and there to soak in the beauty that only spring at the Dixon in Memphis can offer.
